There are 3 types of Lighting Components that can be added to Salesforce for tracking time. 

They are:


  1. Manual Entry: Users go to the Salesforce View page of a record, select the Project, Task and Work-type (or other 3 levels of objects, per their App Key configuration) that their time on the record must be tagged with, key in the time they spent on the record and then save that as their Time Detail. Click here to know more about enabling the Manual Entry lighting component to an object in Salesforce.
  2. Auto Tracking: When users go to the Salesforce View page of a record, all the time they spend on that View page is automatically added as their Time Detail on that record. Users have to do nothing at all - the data is autotically added when they swithc records, go to related Activities and so on. Click here to know more about enabling the auto-tracking lighting component to an object in Salesforce.
  3. Live Tracking: When users go to the Salesforce View page of a record, they can select the Project, Task and Work-type (or other 3 levels of objects, per their App Key configuration) that their time on the record must be tagged with, then click Start to statr tracking time to that record.
