We recommend keeping objects visible in the Live Tracking component to prevent confusion and ensure accurate time entries.
As an example, we are using the Project and Task objects to demonstrate this behavior.
The Live Tracking component is added to the Projects object.
- I go to Projects and click on the project (e.g., Edge Emergency Generator) to which I want to track time. The project is automatically selected in Live Tracking. Clicking Start begins tracking time.
- Without stopping the timer, I switch to another project (e.g., OpenBlue Smart Building Webinar). Time continues to track for the previous project because I did not stop the timer.
- When I notice time is still tracked for the previous project, I click Stop. The timer switches to the current project, and I click Start to track its time.
If we hide the object, it becomes unclear which project the time is tracked to, leading to discrepancies in the recorded duration.
